Authorised Economic Operator status is a reliability certification granted to companies with a high level of compliance with customs legislation. Holders are subject to fewer declaration checks, benefit from the green lane, may act as authorised consignor or consignee, and enjoy guarantee facilities. The application involves a detailed audit of customs history and internal processes.
Requirements
- At least three years of operating history (exceptions apply in certain cases)
- A clean compliance record with customs and tax legislation
- Commercial records that are traceable and auditable
- Financial adequacy evidenced by an independent audit report
- Meeting safety and security standards (premises, personnel, business partners)
