Insurance agency is the activity of issuing contracts on behalf of insurance companies and requires enrolment in the registry held at TOBB. Brokerage, by contrast, acts on behalf of the insured and requires a separate licence from the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency. Both activities require technical staff competence, minimum capital and professional indemnity insurance.
Requirements
- The articles of association stating insurance intermediation as the exclusive business purpose
- The manager or technical staff meeting the education and experience conditions in the legislation
- Meeting minimum capital and asset conditions
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Enrolment in the TOBB registry (agency) or a SEDDK licence (brokerage)
