Private healthcare facilities must obtain a conformity certificate and licence from the Ministry of Health according to the type of activity. Different physical conditions, staffing standards and medical equipment requirements apply to polyclinics, medical centres and private hospitals. If foreign patients are to be treated, an International Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate is also required.
Requirements
- Ministry pre-approval in terms of planning and staffing quota
- The building meeting physical conditions including earthquake, fire and accessibility standards
- Appointment of a responsible manager and forming the medical staff by specialty
- Meeting medical equipment, sterilisation and waste management standards
- For health tourism, a separate authorisation certificate and foreign-language-speaking staff
